Read on for more on the band that have been shaking up the punk scene across Europe
The Indie-Punk outfit that is CHERYM, is among the new school of queer rockers that have taken the world by storm. Starting as a kick-back against the local music scene boys club, their relentless enthusiasm and boundless energy encapsulates who they are as people, and as a ferocious live act. As well as storming across the UK and Europe as their headline act, CHERYM has also previously supported Nova Twins, Enter Shikari, The Beths, Sleeping with Sirens, and Bob Vylan, to name a few, as well as performing at festivals like 2000 Trees, The Great Escape, SXSW, and Truck Festival, and due to play Sziget Festival, Greenbelt Festival, and open the main stage at 2000 Trees. The band's authenticity shines through in their music as they look within themselves for inspiration, only to realise what they have experienced, so many of their fans and peers have experienced as well, resonating so powerfully with their music. Fans of iconic bands like Blink-182, Dream Wife, and Bikini Kill are sure to find a new favourite in CHERYM.
CHERYM are a live act that are not to be missed, take it from Hot Press journalist Anna Sparling's gig review: "If you, your friends, or even your friends' friends, are under the assumption that the queer punk rock scene is dying out, then I urge you to go and see the Derry punk trio." (Hot Press, May 2024)
Tickets to The Depot Sessions are €15 and available here.
