A new home for jazz and improvised music in Dublin
The Cooler is a landmark collaboration between Improvised Music Company and The Complex.
A former Fyffes banana-ripening unit in The Complex building, amidst the fruit and vegetable market area of Dublin’s North inner city, The Cooler has been redeveloped as a new home for jazz and improvised music in the heart of Dublin 7.
The Cooler is a community-driven creative space for rehearsal, development and professional workshops. The Cooler launched as an intimate, small-capacity, club-style performance space in July 2023.
The Improvised Music Company are a resource organisation for Irish and Irish-based jazz musicians, and a specialist promoter of jazz, improvised and ethnic music in Ireland. Improvised Music Company (IMC) was founded by Irish jazz musicians and supporters in 1991.
