The Complex is proud to host UMAKOKO Dance Company's fourth edition of WAVE. The event has welcomed a loyal following from the previous two events held at The Complex.
"This year’s edition is titled W4VE 4EVER 2025, an artistic and cultural statement of commitment, resilience, and purpose.
More than a theme, 4EVER is a vow. A vow to remain rooted in art, community, and self-expression. It reflects a collective decision to carry the fire of creativity beyond this moment - into every future stage, city, and chapter. W4VE 2025 is an invitation to all those who continue to show up with courage, passion, and authenticity.
This year, the show celebrates ‘forever’ not as something fixed, but as a living, evolving force. A force that honours the artists who dance through resistance, who speak through rhythm, and who refuse to settle. It is a gathering of creators who honour their truth - again and again - with every beat, every breath, every performance.
"This is our promise. This is W4VE. This is 4EVER," say Creative Directors and Founders Favour Odusola and Vithoria Escobar of UMAKOKO. “We are bringing together powerful voices from across cultures and disciplines, creating a space that reflects who we are - and who we are becoming.”
Taking place on a 360° stage at The Complex, W4VE will feature performances from some of Ireland’s most influential dancers, choreographers, and community-led groups. From street styles to Afro-diasporic, contemporary to cultural fusion, W4VE 4EVER is set to be a transformative experience that speaks directly to the soul of movement."
