On Friday 7 June, Dublin artist Cruel Sister brings her brand of 90s inspired alt-rock to the stage at The Depot.
Cruel Sister is the stage name of Faith Nico which was inspired by the traditional 17th century murder ballad ‘The Twa Sisters’. It recounts the tale of a girl drowned by her jealous sister and whose body is turned into a harp. Nico explores concepts such as the angst and uncertainty of youth and the complexities of love through music that she writes, produces and mixes herself. Her second EP, 'Turgid' was described by NME as 'brilliantly expansive' and her vocals have drawn comparisons to Kim Gordon, Ellie Rowsell and PJ Harvey.
