After six weeks on the road, tour de force arrives back in Dublin with objects, images, stories, talismans, touchstones from an evolving, circuitous, meandering, labyrinthine trip around Ireland. Donal Dineen’s iconic Backstory club night brings people from all over together through music and dance, creating a transient third space for encounter and movement, rhythmic consciousness, buzzing atmosphere and cathartic flow.
For tour de force X Backstory the Renault 4 is a portal, character, mechanical prop, transient museum and narrative device that guides us through peripheries between reality and fiction, memory and desire, the past and the present as Donal draws from a melting pot of musical styles from across the world.
Join us for a visual and sonic journey on the dance floor, an immersive otherworldly art installation // dance party in a repurposed storage depot at the heart of the historic fruit market district of Dublin.
