The MLP x The Complex writer-in-residence programme is aimed at early-career visual arts writers based in Ireland. This programme is designed to help writers develop their practice by inviting them to produce up to five new responses to the exhibitions and events programme at The Complex in Dublin.

As Writer in Residence at The Complex, Jessica Foley is developing a series of interconnected texts that blend performance, reflection, and poetic experiment. Beginning with Draft I, her work explores the intersections of the personal, political, and imaginative, tracing everyday textures alongside The Complex’s exhibitions and events. Inspired by Anne Carson’s Stacks, Foley’s residency is an open, process-driven inquiry into how language, voice, and relation evolve over time.
