Mark O'Gorman will represent The Complex in Chicago this April, guest curating 'Building A' at Good Weather, an exhibition featuring the work of Áine Mac Giolla Bhríde (A. Mac) and Devin T. Mays.
Opening reception Saturday 26 April 4–7pm.
This exhibition takes place within the larger context of Askeaton Contemporary Arts’ ongoing relationship with Chicago, which continues to grow this April through a citywide series of exhibitions and public events. cago audiences, the program is developed by curators Michael Hill, Noelle Collins, and Mark O’Gorman, alongside artist Devin T. Mays. Supported by exhibition partners Good Weather, 4th Ward Project Space, and Weatherproof, as well as Culture Ireland, the Consulate General of Ireland, EXPO Chicago, Independent Curators International, and The Complex, Dublin.
In linking artist-led activities between Ireland and the American Midwest, Askeaton Contemporary Arts acknowledge the openness and welcome for Irish artists and curators from a new generation of independent art spaces, each upholding a decades-long tradition in Chicago of ambitious ingenuity and egalitarian attitude to the shaping and sharing of culture.
