Michael Collins performs an excerpt from his play It's a cultural thing ... or is it? (A Traveller in Progress) for Traveller Pride 2021
In association with Blanchardstown Traveller Development Group, The Complex filmed an event celebrating Local Traveller Pride Week 2021.
Shot in The Ground Floor Gallery, the event included two short plays by Michael Collins.
Michael is a Writer, Actor, and recipient of the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Honor at The Traveller Pride Awards. He believes that Travellers are natural storytellers, and always tries to draw from reality in his writing.
In ‘It's a cultural thing ... or is it?, Michael brings the audience on a cross-generational journey, exploring Traveller culture from various perspectives. The pieces are authentic, hilarious, and full of heart.
