We’re thrilled to host Earwicker’s Dream at The Cooler, upstairs in The Complex. It will be a unique concert piece that combines spoken word, jazz composition, and improvisation to explore the intricate world of James Joyce’s final novel, Finnegans Wake. Following the success of their Ulysses tour, award-winning actor and playwright Janet Moran teams up once again with internationally acclaimed jazz bassist and composer Ronan Guilfoyle for this extraordinary performance.
Accompanying them is an incredible ensemble of world-class musicians: legendary French jazz guitarist Nguyen Le, known for his groundbreaking projects blending diverse musical traditions; Ireland’s premier jazz saxophonist Michael Buckley; and the brilliant young French drummer Ariel Tessier. Together, they bring Joyce’s richly textured characters and themes to life through a programme filled with humour, pathos, and profound insight.
This promises to be an unforgettable evening, where Joyce’s genius meets the spontaneity and creativity of jazz at its finest.
Performers:
