The Complex is excited to be the chosen home for JAIVA AfroDance Festival 2025, a powerful celebration of Afro dance, culture, and community set to take place right here in the heart of Dublin. You can pledge your support here.
Set over three vibrant days this August, JAIVA promises to transform The Complex into a high-energy hub of rhythm, movement, and unity. With an incredible lineup of Afro dance artists from across Ireland and the globe, the festival will offer something for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned dancers.
The festival will feature workshops, dance battles, showcases, cultural talks, food, music, and the iconic Afro Block Party. It's an opportunity to connect through shared culture, create community, and celebrate the rich diversity of Afro dance styles, including Naija, Ndombolo, Azonto, Afrohouse, Amapiano, Coupé Décalé, and more.
But here’s where you come in.

While the passion, talent, and vision behind JAIVA are undeniable, the resources to bring it all to life are not yet fully in place. The team behind the festival have secured The Complex and launched ticket sales, but they still need your support to make the full programme a reality.
To help fund the costs of production, artist travel, content creation, safety planning, and the essential behind-the-scenes work that makes an event of this scale possible, JAIVA has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Spacehive here. Your pledge, no matter how small, will go directly towards helping this celebration of Afro-diasporic dance and culture take centre stage.
What your support will help deliver:
8 AfroDance Workshops with international and Irish artists
Dance Battles: 1v1 Afro, 3v3 All Style, and 2v2 Afro
Evening Showcases and the Afro Block Party
Cultural panel discussions and networking spaces
African marketplace, food vendors, and lifestyle experiences
Youth dance initiatives and beginner-friendly tracks
Full media and content capture to share and grow the community
JAIVA has already taken huge steps: confirming the venue, opening ticket sales, coordinating artists, and building community partnerships. With your help, they can deliver something truly transformative this August and lay the groundwork for an even bigger JAIVA 2026.
At The Complex, we’re proud to support events that bring new voices, movement cultures, and communities into our space. If you believe in art, access, and cultural celebration, we invite you to join us in backing JAIVA.
