aemi presents: 'Dissolutions: An Experimental Film Festival'

Save the date for aemi’s forthcoming two-day festival: ‘DISSOLUTIONS: an experimental film festival’ in partnership with The Complex on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th of September 2024.

Founded by co-directors Alice Butler and Daniel Fitzpatrick in 2016, aemi is a Dublin-based initiative that supports and regularly exhibits moving image works by artists and experimental filmmakers. The core objective of 'Dissolutions' is to create a new platform celebrating emerging and underrepresented voices in experimental film.

Over a single weekend, attendees will see The Depot at The Complex transformed into a new kind of cinema, hosting screenings, workshops and artist talks. The festival will include a workshop with international guest artist and experimental filmmaker Laida Lertxundi, with programmes and discursive events curated by aemi, Alice Quinn Banville, Ruairí McCann and Helena Gouveia Monteiro.

aemi has developed the festival's visual identity with a talented group of third-year students in the BA Visual Communications programme at TUD: Angie Hogan, Daniel Kinlay, Evan Smith, Nicole Preece and Ploypailin Jitphulphon, who have been taught by Ben Readman. aemi looks forward to collaborating further with the group as the date approaches.

The event is proudly supported by The Arts Council, Screen Ireland and Dublin City Council.
