The Black Guelph will be screened at The Complex this December.
The film deals with teams of mental health in Dublin's inner city and tell the story of Kanto, a small time drug dealer trying to get off the streets whose long absent father Cormac, an industrial school survivor, returns home looking for forgiveness and reconciliation.
The screening will be followed by a post-screening, hour-long open discussion. This discussion provides a unique opportunity for the audience to engage deeply with the film's themes, guided by the film's creators: John Connors and Tiernan Williams. Connors, an advocate for mental health within the Irish Traveller community, brings his personal experiences and insights. At the same time, Williams, an integrative psychotherapist, offers a professional perspective on the issues depicted in the film.
