National concert to launch Traveller Pride Week.
This concert showcases an array of leading musicians, singers and poets and highlights the immense and diverse talents of the Travelling community. The stellar line up is headlined by master piper and fiddler player Mickey Dunne of the renowned musical Dunne family, his daughter; fiddle player and singer Niamh Dunne of Beoga fame and her husband Seán Óg Graham who recently joined the Bothy Band for their reunion tour. The Trio will be joined on stage by piper Johnny Purcell, grandson of the famous Johnny Doran who is travelling over from London especially for the occasion and William Dundon on accordion and vocals. Other highlights include singer/songwriter Katie Theasby, guitarist and singer Marty Barry (grandson of Margaret Barry), rapper Willzee and singers Kathleen Keenan, Rosie McCarthy and Tom and Felix Doran. Readings include acclaimed poets Helen Hutchinson and Johnny Collins.
