Ebb and Flow is the latest and wholly original project from Dublin saxophonist Michael Buckley, joined by his exceptional trio: Greg Felton (piano), Barry Donohue (bass), and Shane O’Donovan (drums). The album’s nine tracks are modern, heartfelt, and full of energy ranging from daring, up-tempo post-bop pieces to lyrical ballads and spontaneous free improvisations.

Widely regarded as Ireland’s foremost contemporary jazz musician, Michael is a phenomenal tenor saxophonist, as well as a sought-after producer and arranger. His impressive list of collaborators includes The Mingus Big Band and Septet, saxophonists Dave Liebman, Lee Konitz, and George Coleman; guitarists Kurt Rosenwinkel and John Abercrombie; pianists Jason Moran, Edward Simon, and Jason Rebello; drummers Joey Baron, Lewis Nash, and Jim Black; trumpeter Colin Steele; percussionist Badal Roy; bassist Ronan Guilfoyle and many others.
