Norwegian jazz sensation Liv Andrea Hauge brings a fresh and captivating energy to the scene with her piano trio, fusing the thrill of free improvisation with graceful, melodic compositions. Already making waves across Europe, Hauge’s trio—featuring Georgia Wartel Collins on double bass and August Glännestrand on drums—crafts evocative melodies and expansive, ever-shifting soundscapes that reflect the spirit of their Scandinavian roots.
Awarded the 2023 Zenith Award for Outstanding Emerging European Artists at the IMC’s 12 Points Festival, this ensemble’s intuitive, seamless interplay creates a deeply rewarding live experience.
“Energetic young musicians with impressive skill and a natural sense of how their individual voices come together… It’s one of those bands that makes you appreciate the trio as the perfect ensemble—wide tonal range, dynamic flexibility, and small enough to stay intimately connected.” - HiFi+ 5-star review
The trio has also been selected for the Footprints Europe program, and their second album, Ville Blomster, is out now on Hubro Records. Liv’s compositions explore groove, simple, singable motifs, and intricate interplay, with a mix of playful energy and poignant melancholy. The music always leaves space for improvisation, offering a sound that is both expansive and intimate. Hauge has recently been commissioned to write a major new work for trio, three vocalists, and full orchestra for the opening of Bodø24, European Capital of Culture.
This tour in Ireland is part of the Better Live Music program, a project co-funded by the European Creative Programme of the European Union and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
