Gigs @ The Cooler: Córas Trio Album Launch!

Looking for something a bit different to do on a Saturday night? Head down to The Cooler @ The Complex for an unforgettable night of improvised music from Belfast's Córas Trio on Saturday, 3rd August from 7:30 pm.

Leading lights in a fresh wave of Irish musicians exploring links between the ancient and the 21st century, Belfast’s Córas Trio are steeped in free improv, electronic music, and the city’s “seisiún” or session scene. Comprising Kevin McCullagh (fiddle, electronics), Paddy McKeown (guitar, electronics) and Conor McAuley (drums), the trio are part of a new creative wave of musicians based in Belfast exploring how traditional music relates to the experience of the 21st century. Irish traditional music is taken to the outer reaches where the spirits of Schoenberg and Sun Ra play with Seán Ó Riada and Tommie Potts.

This Dublin performance, presented by The Improvised Music Company (IMC) at The Cooler, is the perfect intimate setting to hear the trio's unique, experimental sounds as they launch their debut album 'Córas Trio' on the night.
