DISSOLUTIONS
An Experimental Film Festival
Over a single weekend this September aemi will transform The Depot at The Complex into a new kind of artist cinema, hosting screenings, workshops, and artist talks. The festival will feature a practice-based workshop on 16mm filmmaking with international guest Laida Lertxundi as well as programmes and discursive events curated by aemi, Alice Quinn Banville, Jenny Brady, Helena Gouveia Monteiro Ruairí McCann.
The festival includes Irish premieres of feature-length films The Buriti Flower and Shared Resources as well as a 'best of fanvid mixtape' screening, a selection of films from the North, a focus on Palestinian cinema and an evening of psychedelic filmmaking.
The line-up for the festival reflects a diversity of voices to reinforce the vitality of experimental film practices in and from Ireland. The core objective of this new festival is to create a unique platform to celebrate and bring new and underrepresented voices in artist film together.
aemi would like to thank Angie Hogan, Daniel Kinlay, Evan Smith, Nicole Preece and Ploypailin Jitphulphon, a talented group of third year students in the BA Visual Communications programme at TUD, taught by Ben Readman for developing the visual identity for this festival.
